New Dojo Patch
The Dojo has recently introduced a new patch. This patch does not replace anything. It is an addition to the uniform and will be worn on the right bicep in the same location as the Academy patch on the left bicep. The main part of the patch is a round Yin Yang that represents the opposite of all things but when brought together as one, creates harmony. The center point of the patch is a wolf that has taken many months to get to the level of perfection that I have been searching for. Many of you have known that wolves have always meant something to me. Some may call it a spirit guide and some may call it a totem. What ever the reason may be, I feel a connection to this animal like no other. Sensei Browning gave me a Native American Fetish, which is a stone carving of a wolf. Along with it were the following words that brought it all together for me.
Wolf represents a teacher of new ideas and wisdom, intense loyalty with balance of independence, family-oriented, warmth, deeply spiritual and a night story teller. He teaches us inner guidance and clarity and is a pathfinder on the journey of survival.
Whether you believe in me and what the Dojo stands for or not, I am who I am and I see things with more clarity than ever. I consider this definition of a wolf to be a hard description to live up to, but I do see where I am on the path. The potential of all of them lie within me and I strive to be better at each of them every day. This patch represents me bringing all of my worlds together. I hope that you too will be able to wear this patch with pride as you are already a member of the pack.
