With over 27 years in business, opening our doors in January of 1996.  We offer classes for all ages starting at 4 and 5 years old, called KARATE PRESCHOOL.  We also teach WOMEN’S SELF-DEFENSE classes for teens and women of all ages.  Our biggest draw and our main focus is KARATE/MARTIAL ARTS/SELF-DEFENSE for all ages 6 years old and up.  The Martial Arts has benefited people for hundreds of years and has become an experience that can be an individual accomplishment or something the entire family can do together.

Our beginner’s class takes about 6 to 8 weeks to get through.  During that time the student will be introduced to 4 basic components to the Martial Arts;

The first is physical fitness.  We will teach you exercises that will not only benefit you in the Martial Arts but also in other sports you may choose to play as well, or simply just getting in better shape for your own personal goals.

The second part is kata (forms).  This is how we practice our skills, including but not limited to: kicks, punches, blocks, breathing, stances and balance, by ourselves.  It also is a great way to work on memory and coordination.

We also practice sparring (controlled fighting) as our third part of study.  We get to apply many of the techniques with other people.  Sparring levels will increase as the student progresses over time and rank.

Kata (Forms) is a way we practice our technique without the need or use of equipment or partners.  Sparring and Kata are two areas of study that can also be brought to competition.  Tournaments are not mandatory but are an option for students if they should choose.  Open competitions are available local and nationwide.  This part is strictly up to the individual student.

The forth level of study is self-defense.  It is bringing all that we have learned and putting it together to learn how to escape certain situations.  Knowing how to defend ourselves is just a start.  Simply teaching confidence is a major part of avoidance.  Confidence is gained through continued practice and study that can be taken with the student anywhere they go.

The Martial Arts also comes highly recommended for ADHD and other attention/focus and discipline issues.

Gift certificates are available for that hard to buy for person.
